The first thing is to back up any programs or documents or files that you may need in the future. Next is to make sure you have your Windows Installation Disks and Serial Numbers.

Then delete the data on the hard drive by going into Start-Run-Format C:. This will delete all of the data on the hard drive and windows will no longer work.

Reboot your PC, you do not need to do this through the start menu. You can just turn it off (it'll be easier). When your PC Restarts, place your Windows Install disc in the CD drive (or floppy) and boot off of it.

Reinstall Windows as usual.

Hi, to get rid of everything you will have to do a reformat. This isn't hard to do at all, and there's assistance all over the internet. That's what you have to do to clean it all, get rid of EVERYTHING and re-install everything fresh.

Then you can post it for sale on Craigslist or on Ebay, you should also try your local newspaper classified:)

Good Luck, I hope I helped

before you sell it do this first

what you need to do is wipe all of your info off first. reformatting your had drive will not do this. you need a department of defense wipe application. it will replace everything on your hard drive with zeros and do up to 7 passes to make certain nothing is left. when you are finished reinstall windows
