I do believe that cheerleading is a sport mainly due to the fact that it takes a lot of mental and athletic training and some God givin talent. Cheerleading is a sport becuase some squads compete against other teams. And if ne one doesn't think it's a sport because all they think it is;is yelling and jumping up and down, I say why don't you go try it! As far as weather or not cheerleaders are awesome that would depend on the person. But I like them.

They are awesome and fun to watch, but it isnt a sport. A sport is something where there are two teams playing against eachother for something, there is an offense and a defense and one team has to try to stop the other and win. Football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer are sports. Golf, fishing, hunting, track, and cheerleading are not sports. Why do you think they always have cheerleading on ESPN2? Thats where they show all sports that ARE NOT SPORTS, like stacking cups and dominoes. Cheerleaders are great , but cheerleading is not a sport.

Some people are trying to make cheer leading a sport by adding elements of acrobatic-tumbling gymnastics. NCCA says this is dangerous, so be like the Pro cheerleaders and just cheer for the team.

i will definetly say that cheerleading is so awesome because my friend is in it and she loves being in it. Yes, i do agree that cheerleading is a sport because only sports go to tournaments and other cool activities.

I don't think they are "awesome", but it is definitely a sport these days. Maybe not for all squads, but if you are competition caliber, you have to be in seriously great shape. Anyone who would say otherwise has never watched a competition.

i love gymnastics! it isnt cheer but close! competition cheerleading is a sport! sideline rah rah is NOT!
