I'm 40 in June. I've been going to the docs cos I've been having mood swings, my blood pressure has been a little up to what it should be. I was booked in today to have blood tests to check several things including my hormones but was told to wait until 3 days into my period. I was due last Thursday. Today I cancelled the appointment as my period hadn't started. Found it strange cos I can usually say to the day when I'm due on. While I was out I thought I'd buy a pregnancy kit just to put my mind to rest. Anyway, it was positive lol. Omg what a shock. My hubby is shocked too as he was told he may not be able to father a child as he had radiotherapy 3 yrs ago. He's in the US in the US military and I'm in the UK. We're hoping to move over to him. How am I going to cope with all the stress of fighting my ex in court to get my kids over there with me and cope with the pregnancy too. I know it's not an illness but I have to watch my blood pressure. I can't believe I'm pregnant

Thank you everyone. Think one answer was from a male, typical lol. Just as well they don't go through half the things women do lol. Well I'll still be training at the gym but light weights from now on. That will help me with the stress

wow, just take a deep breath and say to your slef that everything willl be alright.
The baby won't be here for another 40 weeks which gives you plenty of time to figure out the situation with your kids and husband.

Congratulations! I remember that omg feeling when I got pregnant with number 5.
You will cope - as you said being pregnant is not an illness - though the morning sickness & tiredness of those first few weeks can be. If you're pregnanices have been fine before and you don't have a history of blood pressure problems then there is no reason why your life stressors should affect your pregnancy.
Hopefully you'll get on ok in court and you'll have something exciting to look forward to in 9 months.

You will cope, your hubby will probably be over the moon once he gets over the shock.
You don't have to have the child, all the tests and all that go with your age high blood pressure etc. The decision is yours and yours alone I thought I was at 41 and got used to the idea, I was late and also devastated when I did come on. Now though It was a blessing I had heart problem's, high bp.
Anyway it all ended with me having to have double heart bypass a couple of year's ago aged 43 if I had of been pregnant I don't know what would have become of either of us.

Congratulations sweetheart. I was 40 when i had my last son. Reckon i have more patience with him than i did when i had my first at 25.
You'll manage just fine. Honest. Nothing is ever as bad as you think it's going to be.

OK well congrats on expecting. if UK courts are like us courts your children should be allowed to talk to the judge and state that they wish to live with you in the us. do you have full custody of them right now ?? if so it shouldn't be too hard mind. mind you i know nothing of UK courts but if there like us courts you should be good. good luck and congrats!
