Draft registration in the USA was reinstated under President Carter in 1980, supposedly as part of the preparations for intervention by the USA in Afghanistan on the side of the Islamic fundamentalist warlords and mujahideen who were then fighting against the Soviet Union.

There is a difference between draft registration and the actual reinstatement the military draft. All boys from the age of 18 and up know this already. They have to register at that age, remember?

Thats correct all males have to sign up at the local post office when they turn 18. Whats the big deal? its not like theres a draft going on right now and if there were so what? I would go in a heart beat.

Jimmy carter is by far the second worst president in american history. Let's not forget his big "lets reduce dependency on foreign gas by restricting the amount you can buy in a week, only if your tank is less than halfway full...." I'm really not surprised about the draft. I may be too young to know about it, but i'm not stupid.
