The Africans were captured, often in war. Does that count? Many Mexicans fled to the US about 1912 to get out of the Mexican civil war. Does that count?
Many Irish Catholics came to the US because their options at home were limited by the English who had invaded their country and were occupying it. does that count?
Many Chinese people fled to the US when the communists took over in the 1940's. Does that count?
Personally, I'd say all of the above.

Bad question. Africans were conquored by neighboring tribes, then sold to slavers, so they came by military conquest. Mexicans lived in California, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, and Arizona, so they "entered" the U.S. when Mexico lost the Mexican-American War (a war that the Mexicans thought they would win when it began, which is why they didn't mind entering it), Chinese... they came voluntarily. Irish Catholics came to the U.S. because the English conquored Ireland, then outlawed Irish language, religion, etc. Many fled to the U.S. So three of the four mentioned groups ended up Americans because of military conquest.

I think the most likely answer would be Mexicans as the US acquired all of the south west from Mexico, by conquest. Silly question because most of those territories acquired from Mexico were sparsely populated. I would think that Texas would have been the most populous territory acquired and many of it's inhabitants were Americans who emigrated to Texas when it was still part of Mexico. Most, Mexicans that are in the US now would have arrived after those territories were annexed.
