Since Belgium will not confront Iran on the illegal seizure of the British Navy personnel, and since Belgium will not confront Iran on their seeking nuclear weapons, does this signal the END of the strong Belgian leadership role and imperialistic ambitions in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East?

there's a difference between peaceful and passive.
The US was peaceful with Russia during Cold War, but not passive.

Belgium has no imperialist ambitions. And Belgians are not a aggressif people. So what ? Should the Belgians declare war to Iran ?
This is a matter of the UN where the Belgians have always been a loyal member what not can be said of some other countries.

Is Belgium passive : I don't think so. For a small country it has a lot of UN mission done and on going. At this moment : f.e. Lebanon and Aghanistan. Before the Balkan (some units are still there), Somalia, Ethiopia, Ruanda, Korea, Cambodja, ...

By the way the EU main office is in Brussels in Belgium, not the Netherlands

The EU capitol is in the Netherlands. Thus the pounding the US dollar has faced since the Euro is a direct result of them affecting global issues.
