They say they are out of cap room what with tagging Smith. Maybe they figure that some of their moves from last year are going to come to fruition this year; a healthy Sam Adams, healthier Dexter Jackson, and a more expierienced Ahmed Brooks. Last year it took everything that could go wrong to keep them out of the playoffs, it was not any one thing but the sum of many things (mainly injuries and not arrests despite what what everyone with no thoughts of their own will chime in about it) and they still nearly made it. Maybe Marvin thinks they weren't very far off last year.

They don't have enough cap room and the free agent market is pricey this year. Big bucks are being spent for not much talent in return. They are going with the people they got last year plus the draft.
They have the great Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, and TJ Houshmanzadeh on offense already. Carson is locked in for many years. That costs money. Whoever said the Bengals have a lot of holes is wrong. They have a great offense. They just need to improve their defense. They already have some promising young players on defense (Ahmad Brooks for one), and they can continue to add to that in the draft.
By the way, all the arrest jokes are lame and have been done to death. I don't know why people think that is clever. There are also other teams that have had more arrests than the Bengals. The Bengals also have only misdemeanor arrests. There are other teams who have players with much more serious offenses.

Well, basically they will try to fill their few minors holes on the lines, linebackers, and maybe a guy in the secondary. Then there is always the question of whether potential star MLB Odell Thurman will recover from his legal problems and become the force he was as a rookie. Plus they have very little cap room for this time of year, so they could not be very active in order to resign players and sign rookies.
Expect them to draft a DT or OLB in the first round. (I think Polusky or however u spell that out of Penn St. at OLB, he would be a perfect fit in the system.

From what I hear overall this was a weak free agent market where the spending was out of hand for the players that were out there. Plus the Bengals were to concentrate on signing the players they wanted to keep and also trying to put money under the cap for their draft that they are putting all their stock into this year.

Baltimore picked the Ravens because of the fact it became the domicile of Edgar Allen Poe and that is a connection along with his poem "The Raven". Minnesota became the Vikings because of the fact there have been Viking artifacts present in Minnesota (probably traded from one indian tribe to a various, all the way from Newfoundland). purely guessing the subsequent couple, the Bears might have been a play on the Chicago Cubs who have been already around. Likewise the Lions might have been a play on the Tigers who have been aleady a important league baseball group. i think of the Cleveland Browns have been named for their first proprietor and coach, Paul Brown. Later, after he offered the Browns, Paul Brown all started the Cincinnati Bengals and it ought to have been that he had to maintain the comparable initals (CB). i've got faith you're almost suitable regarding the Packers in spite of if it ought to have talked approximately meat packers. it style of feels to me that I heard as quickly as that lots of the unique gamers worked for a meat packing organization. That became lower back interior the days whilst professional soccer gamers needed different jobs.

They have not been active because they have too many players with an "uncertain" asterisk next to them. Meaning with the league cracking down on what is tolerated they may not have some of the guys who have been in trouble so they don't know what area or position to fill as of now. Either way it will be on the defensive side of the ball. They are hoping to simple get the key players back and add on or two quality starters.

Cincy wants to resign all thier own players than go out and get overpriced FAs. With J. Smith franchised they just dont have the cap to sign a FA right now.

They'll probably do some moving up or around on draft day, then make some trades to get better on both sides of the ball.

I think they've been too busy bailing players out of jail.
Maybe once the prison revolving door stops rolling around, they can afford the money to buy Chad Johnson more hair dye.
Apparently, Bengals are afraid to sign any new players who have character issues.
