I am 30 years old. I have always had low sex drive. I have tried various herbal products. I have a wonderful husband, who I love dearly and cannot live without. So what's wrong with me? When its time to have sex, I can't get excited at all. I am just not interested. After depriving my husband too much, I will end up losing him one day. What can I do? This problem got even worse after having a c-section, now three of them. Can this affect sex drive?

If hormones are low it can cause low sex drive. Women need a normal range of estrogen as well as a small amount of testosterone to keep the sex drive normal. Have your Dr. do a full hormone workup to see if anything is low. You can look at this table to see all the hormones that cause low sex drive: http://www.goodhormonehealth.com/symptoms/gland_hormone_symptom_table.html . I suffered from low sex drive after my pituitary was damaged...as soon as I replaced lost estrogen and testosterone it was back to normal.

Working out can make you more aroused when it comes time to have sex. You could try increasing your exercise level, or starting at 3x/weekly if you don't already do it.

Don't worry about losing your husband! If he truly loves you he'll bear with you until you figure it out. It's a hard thing to talk about, but you could ask your GYN for help. Sometimes lack of sex drive is indicative of hormonal problems. It can be fixed, don't freak yet.

Figure out what gets you in the mood. First, send the kids to your sister's or hire a babysitter and meet hubby at a hotel. Then pop open a bottle of wine or get some music playing. Whatever works for you. Just remember that you guys love each other and having sex is part of that love, and maybe being alone with your husband and just holding each other and spending time together will rekindle some of that spirit, and put you in the mood to make love.

Have you talked to your family doctor about this? There are hormonal imbalances that can cause low sex drive... possibly thyroid. A quick blood test could rule out (or confirm) some of the more common problems.

Eating chocolates often may trigger sex drive. Certainly, blood circulation plays a part. At the same time you and husband read this, and try ask your husband to arouse you by lots of foreplay. Certain parts of your body may like to be touch without your knowledge.
