Okay, so I have a daughter who is almost a year old and I love her to death. I hadn't had a period since when I first got pregnant until a month ago. During that entire year & nine months, I was content.

Now all the sudden, it's like, I have baby fever! Especially when I'm close to having my period. I see a baby and I'm like, awww, I want another one! Even though I really shouldn't because I just stopped breastfeeding and I lost a bunch of weight, and during my pregnancy I had pre-eclampsia/toxemia so I should really let my body get back to normal. That and I want to spend as much time with my daughter as I can without having to split focus. And I'm almost 20 years old--I mean, there's no rush!

So I guess my question is...is this kind of baby fever normal? I have on-and-off days but it gets really bad around my period and sometimes I get really depressed about it. Is it hormones? Does anyone else have this problem? Please, advice! <3

By the way, I'm not trying to get pregnant again and I know I'm not going to be having a baby anytime soon. I just want to know if this baby fever is normal. Thanks!

Lol I think it is! They grow sooo fast and once they become toddlers they are a lot more independent and after a year when you had a little someone hanging and clinging on you and relying on you with absolutely everything, you might feel nostalgic once she wants to be independent and free. It's nice to remember back to those early months of lots of cuddling and physical contact.
Trust me this is how I feel, I have a 11 months old and I've got pregnant again when she was 3 months old so now I am almost ready to give birth to the 2nd one :-))) for the exact same reason. Baby fever came on me not much after giving birth (even though delivery was awful).

Well.... my son is 9 months old and I can definatly wait! I do however have two in the house! Every since my first 4 years ago i get baby fever every once in awhile. I just have to sit and do a reality check ....do I really want another... NO not right now:) Give that baby her own special time and if you want another when she's a little older go for it. I thought I had mine perfect at 2 1/2 years old I was prego with the second. I love it but it is still a lot of work. It's all in the hormones girl!

I sure hope its normal, as I am having it myself! My daughter 11 months (tomorrow), and I am still nursing, but cutting back and I have noticed as I begin to ween her, and as I am starting to get symptoms of my period returning (haven't had it myself since I got pregnant), I want to have another baby REALLY bad...and there is no rush here either (I'm 23, and happily married and in no rush to have another child yet). I think it's hormonal. I also think it is psychological as well. Seeing your daughter grow up and entering the toddler stage makes you miss your "baby," and may trigger the maternal instinct and desires to care for an infant again (at least I am hoping that is the case). :)

I had baby fever at 16 and I am so glad I didn't end up pregnant until I got married. It must be normal because I have seen so many people go through it.
