How do i invite a band to my school to perform?

ok i want to invite my favorite band to come to my school and perform there but i have not clue how to ask them does any one know how i could get then to come??and how much it would cost??thanks it would mean a lot to me

Call or write the local chapter of the musician's union. They may not be able to answer all of your questions, but they will be able to refer you to somebody in your local area that can help.

Well, it WON"T be cheap, for one thing. And there will likely be a long wait...

But to invite them, most bands' sites have places where you can request to book them. I'm not sure if they will do that for a middle school (speaking of which, mayhaps you should get rid of the name?) but that is how you would go about it for most of the smaller artists. If they are going on anti-drug tours or are going to be in the area, that might help you get them to come. Anyways, I would email someone involved with the bands and ask for details. Again though, expect it to be pricey!

EDIT: Avenged Sevenfold are currently off the road to work on a new album and therefore unbookable for the near future. Good Charlotte is on tour (in Europe, though, is what it looked like) but I could not find any contact info. Mayhaps you should aim lower- organize a coffee house of local bands or invite some smaller CD producing artist?

This seems very unlikely to me. First off, bands are very busy and second, I doubt that you would have the kind of money to host them at your school. But, I am sure you could go to the band's website and e-mail there manager or something. Good luck!!
