Well, on the Internet there are so many options. You never seem to run out of things to do. So, you're brain is distracted by the interesting things you see, so you loose sense of time.
That's my guess.

I'm not sure. I always do the same thing though. I get home from school, open my laptop and next thing I know its 5:30 and I havent started work lol.
