Cory cats do much better in groups of three or more. They love to play with each other and buddy around the tank. However if kept alone they will have bursts of energy where they swim around eating and times when they will just sit in one place.
If he looks healthy then he is doing fine.

Some Cory cats are just shy. They do like to be in groups of 6 or more. You don't have room in your 10g tank with that Pleco, so adding more is not an option. Do you have room in your other tank/s for a school of cory cats? Do you know anyone that can take the fish from you? He'd be happier in a more suitable tank, sorry. :(
Cory's also like being with dither fish. Mine would hide until I bought a school of Danios.

Fairly normal behaviour. Even Corys who have been in a tank for years will just sit quietly in one place for what seems like hours. I find many of them tend to move around more in the evening after the lights have gone out.
On a gladder note, not only will a Cory enjoy the company of another of it's kind, it will also do well with another type of Cory. They tend to, mostly, get along very well with each other and, with over 200 types of Corys catalogued, you have a large choice to choose from with many interesting patterns available.
For more information on Corys you might try researching on the net for articles or books by Dr. Herbert Axelrod, someone so intimate with Corys that he has one named after him. :)
Hope this helps.

Cory cats are schooling fish, meaning they like to be in groups of 4 or more. I suggest getting 3 or 4 more cories, preferably the same type of one you have, and then they will swim up and down the tank walls and across the floor, good luck.

I had a cory that seriously lived for 5 years. He was the only one that I had with a bunch of guppies and platties. He always seemed happy. He may be adjusting. They say that they do good with others of their kind so if he doesn't get better then you could probably get him another one to keep him company. They generally act alot like a plecostamus or bottom feeder, so this could be different from what you were expecting.

It is acting very normal. Idk if another of it's kind would help but the way you put it, it sounds older. Once Cory Cats mature they usually sit at the bottom of the tank, and eat/clean the tank when they want, the lazy buggers. Don't you wish you had a life like that??!! I do. Anyway, there isn't anything to worry about. Hope this helps!!

Probably just settling in. Corys are clowns, you never know what they will do next and are quite entertaining for that reason. He may do that for a week then decide to sit facing out of another corner or perch on a plant leaf.... no telling with corys.
