Good question! When I was pregnant, I sweated out my migraines because I was really scared to take anything. If he prescribed it for you knowing you are pregnant, then yea, I'd take it. Midrin didn't work well for me anyhow; the newer medicines like Repax work much better (and are non-narcotic).

If your ob prescribed it, then I guess its okay. I stopped taking midrin during my pregnancies, but it wasn't because my doctor said to. I cut off all medications besides Tylenol when I got pregnant. They offered me Tylenol 3 for my migraines, but I was too scared to take anything.

My doctor told me to take tylenol and try a cold compress on my head. That did not work, so after a month, they prescribed midrin. I had migraine issues since prior to pregnancy -- and before I got pregnant, midrin would work if I took it right away. For some reason, it never worked for me while pregnant. So after another month, they switched me to axocet. This has been the only thing that can stop my headaches, but I usually get a rebound headache 4 to 6 hours later. Still beats sitting that whole 4-6 hours its gone with a headache though.

It's generally accepted that the only medication that's safe to take during pregnancy is regular Tylenol. Double-check with your doctor to be sure.

I have never heard of anyone being prescribed Midrin during pregnancy. I have severe migraines and was taken off of midrin and given Tylenol 3 which is safe during pregnancy.
You can go to drugs.com and see if midrin is indeed safe during pregnancy

Midrin is okay to take during pregnancy as long as your doctor gave the ok. Personally I would suggest you stay with the midrin because Tynenol 3 has too much side effects and it can be tranfered to breast milk.

I developed terrible migraines while pregnant with my youngest daughter and my doctor also prescribed me midrin. It really did work but do not take it unless you are able to lay down and go to sleep because it will make you extremely drowsy.
