You learn to accept the fact that not everyone is the same person who hurt you and you do not base present relationships on past ones.

It's not easy to learn to completely trust again once a person has been hurt, but it will happen, but in time, when the other person proves he/she can be trusted. Trust is something that is earned.

If the trust your are trying to give is to the person that hurt you, then only time will allow that to occur along with the proper behavior, respect and love from that person to prove themselves worthy of your trust.

For one it takes time, I think that it has to be built. And if its a new person, then you have to give them a chance to show you that they can be trusted.

you cant dwell on the past and if you do then you wont have a healthy relationship ever. you have to learn to let go and give this new person a chance. I understand you got hurt and it wasnt fun but guess what he/she didnt do it to you. they are a new person and if you keep it up and continue to nag this new person and tell them dont hurt me because i have been hurt before, you will lead them to cheating on you. change your attitude and life now. dont let this cheater that you had get you down. good luck.

Well I wouldn't be giving them 'complete' trust.....take baby steps. Give small pieces of your heart instead of the whole thing....time helps to heal you when you have been betrayed but go slowly.

Assuming it is the one that hurt you, don't, just move on and find someone trustworthy.
The CIA doesn't hire back people that have sold secrets to the enemy, just because they say, Oh, sorry, I'll never do it again.
