Hello, my ferret is about 15 weeks old and she will not eat her 8 in 1 Ultimate Crunchy Diet for Ferrets, is she to young for adult food? I am starting to feed her lunch meat, is this okay? I am feeding her turkey, ham, and bologna. I am also going to feed her an unseasoned hamburger tonight because she just wont eat her own stinkin food! Will she eat it when she is an adult which I understand is a year old. She is only 15 weeks and I just wanted to know what she can eat and what she cant! Is lunch meat okay!? Thanks!

It's fine, but theirs really no way to tell if your ferret is getting all the nutrients it needs. A good idea may be to mix the ferret food with the meat and see if she will start eating the ferret food again. If you don't get her back on ferret food now then you will never be able to give it to her because all she will want is meat. Also try adding some ferretvite to the food ferrets love it and your actually supposed to add it. She should eat all the ferret food with the ferretvite added to it.

If you decide to switch to a different type of ferret food then you still need to mix it with the other ferret food because your ferret may not like the sudden change in food. Gradually add less of the original food untill she is only eating the new one.

Ferret Feeding Help!?
Hello, my ferret is about 15 weeks old and she will not eat her 8 in 1 Ultimate Crunchy Diet for Ferrets...............

Have you been feeding the Ferret dry food... the crunchy may be the problem.. moisten the food with water.. young Ferrets have tender gums and can not eat the hard food for long.
You might also try a quality CANNED cat food.

because of the preservatives and salt in lunch meats, it is not health for your ferret...try a couple different kinds from the pet store made for ferrets...they have a few kinds. if he gets to use to eating the unhealthy foods now, it may be hard to get him out of the transition.
