on a Related Note: Don't get Cingular. They rape you with the rates and rape you with overage charges with no lube. Who governs these businesses?

I believe that only a portion of cell phone companies are utterly ridiculous. I believe that my current provider, Verizon, not only rapes you with rates, but then brings shxty charges for the most un-necessary needs. It costs airtime minutes to play games, and it costs out-messages AND airtime to use applications like mobile im. And then they charge you so much for text messages and very low amounts of minutes, and then airtime for other crap! No one governs these crappy businesses, but the only cell phone service plans I can agree with are T-Mobile - cheap and doesn't charge for unnecessary crap. Fxck Verizon.

You govern the business. If you told Cingular to f.o.a.d. then you excercised your vote. If enough do that then Cingular will lower its rates or do what it needs to to get its business back. Cell rates do seem steep, but there is a lot of expensive infrastructure that gets that voice to your ear. Then there are taxes and payoffs to politicians that must be kept in mind.

That's why I use TracFone. I will never get a bill, and if I decide I don't want it any more, I can put it in a drawer or throw it out.
