You can get into some well known schools with your scores, but probably not the schools you mention. However, if your GPA is strong, and you have some special talents and skills, then your SAT scores may not be as important. Some students who are very strong in other areas get into the best universities in the US with so-so SAT scores. It's your entire package they look at, not just this one test.

But even if the rest of your application is just average, there are some well known schools that you could get into. Johnson and Wales. Fordham University (Marymount College specifically). Suffolk University. Some of the SUNY colleges. Many of the CUNY colleges. A couple of the UMass campuses. One of the University of Illinois campuses. Two of the University of Nebraska campuses. As you can see, you'll have a lot of options.

Sorry but your scores are average if not a little below average. You're definitely not looking at Notre Dame or Yale, but probably some smaller schools or state schools. Ivy Leagues wont even consider you with scores like that unless you have an amazing GPA, extracurriculars, recommendations and essays and even then, still very unlikely. Good luck with whatever schools you choose to apply to!

Even the top colleges (you mention Yale) have students with scores lower than yours. You need to be realistic, but yes, take a flyer on Yale and one or two other "reach" schools - and also a few good solid schools and a couple of safeties.

But let me tell you - from my 44-year-old perspective, it really doesn't matter a whole lot where you end up for college. I know some really intelligent and accomplished people who went to places I never heard of.

ou don't mention your GPA. However, with those SAT scores you will have a hard time getting into highly rated university. 75% of the students getting into Yale have a combined score of 2100 or higher. Notre Dame is not far behind.

With good grades, you might be able to get into a decent public university. Unless you can raise your SATs, you iwll have a hard time getting into any selective university.
