I am considering to move to one of these cities. I would really like info from people who have or do live in these cities.

I want info on these categories.
1. Real estate--- Housing ( Which city is cheaper to buy a house?)
2. Public Transportation
3. Schools in the area---Colleges and Universities.
3. What to do on Weekends.
4. Weather ( I am moving from New England and i am escaping the harsh winters)

I live in Phoenix...

San Diego and San Francisco.....super high housing costs and taxes. Phoenix is lower, though higher than Tucson.
San Diego, Phoenix, and Tucson have mild winters and DRY summers. I'm not too sure about San Francisco.
Public Transportation is better in California, since Phoenix grew faster than its transit could handle. Public transportation is adequate in Phoenix and Tucson. Phoenix is finally getting a metro rail.
Plenty to do on weekends in Phoenix. Arizona is great for the outdoor enthusiast. Pretty much anything you can think of minus a beach and large crowds.
Phoenix is hot for three months out of the year. First year summer is worse. However, the humidity is consistently low in Phoenix and Tucson, and that makes a large difference.

Actually, I think you'd enjoy any of the cities, but I think Phoenix has the best blend of price and activities. Of course, that's why I live there (here).

San Francisco is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO expensive!---everywhere! It's great to walk everywhere though-there's something new and different on every block. Bars are great (I don't know if you're old enough to go to them though) and there's always something to do on the weekends. Even walking around the piers you meet people. The weather wasn't to my taste when I lived there---rainy and cold (50's--which is cold to me). Some days were nice but most of the time it was rainy. I didn't live there long before I moved to Nashville and love it here!
However....I did live in New Mexico so I went to Phoenix quite a bit and it was just too hot and dry for me there. That's the only complaint I have about that though.

Phoenix and surrounding metropolis is really nice in the winter months but literally hot as hell in the summer months. You get about 6 months of each. West phx. is cheaper to live in but also has a lot more gang activity. East Mesa is University city and mormon country. As you get further east it turns into old people havens.Public Transpo is really good, you can get about anywhere. they have 6 or 7 Community colleges and ASU is the university in Tempe (east Phx). Weekends are endless opps for fun. Sedona is about 130 miles north and Flagstaff is a ski resort town. There are lakes for tubing, skiing, sightseeing, and just playing all around phx. Florence is south and has one of the biggest country music rendevous in US. Renaissance FESTIVAL IN FEB AND mARCH. Phx Int'l raceway if U R into that. Casinos everywhere. swap meets just a plura of things to do. I never lacked fun. I live in Flagstaff now and it snows but nothing like your winters now.
