Convictions should not be rigid but true to oneself.

I agree. The way you view the world is subject to what you have seen. When you see more you should check if your convictions stand up to that.

This is a nice one. In 12 angry men the main character stands for what he believe in and changes his opinion...or conviction when the evidence takes him there.

Most other men on the jury let their conviction take them where their ideas about the defendant took them before the trial even started (either racist, grief, stupidity, peer pressure)
