I was diagnosed with HSV-1 last year. I have only had one outbreak. I recently have been suspecting that I'm pregnant & now I'm having an outbreak. Anyone had an outbreak from early pregnancy?

it can happen. i suffer with bad cold sore (they are linked) and during my first pregnancy i could hardly open my mouth for them. it is the hormone changes in your body causing it. have a word with your doctor and if necessary (and if they are erupted near birth time )(and being down below) your doctor can arrange for a section rather than a natural birth to protect the baby.

ok given you have herpes that would be what I would assume it is. But I dont have herpes my partner and I have only ever been with each other. But during my pregnancy I had gotten similar symptoms thought it was a yeast infection. Found out it wasnt that and they wanted to test me for herpes. well It wasnt that either. the doctor I have now explained it best. During pregnancy their is a certain hormone that makes things down there extra sensitive. Basically he said easily traumatized. So with lots of intercourse or even rougher intercourse (or even just a repetitive position) it can cause those symptoms.. (sore painful red maybe even itchy) there wasnt anything he said to do but try and be easy so as not to aggravate down there. since then I have never had it happen again. good luck either way talk to your doctor.

No, but I guess it could happen. Outbreaks occur when your body is under stress. I usually get cold sores (from HSV-1) when I'm about to get a cold, if I haven't gotten enough sleep lately, or if I'm generally under a lot of pressure. Pregnancy does put stress on your body. However, I woudln't use an outbreak as a barometer of pregnancy. Best to get a test.

HSV-1 is commonly the strain that causes fever blisters on your mouth. HSV-2 causes genital outbreaks. Some doctors put you on supressive therapy to prevent outbreaks. It doesn't really matter unless you are having an outbreak when you deliver and then they may consider doing a c-section so the infection isn't passed to the baby.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.
