My son is studying South Carolina History and the Civil War and we are having a hard time because he is 10 and all of the info I am finding is really adult. I am looking for something kid friendly....since they don't have History books?

Try a local historical society or the library of congress.

There is a lot of Civil War information on the National Park Service websites for the various memorials and battlefields. Check out the Fort Sumpter website.

Try taking him to Charleston. The center there has lots of murals and pictures with a paragraph here and there. I took my daughter when she was about ten years old and she got a lot out of it.

(It is NOT "fun", per se, but it is informative and simple.)

try your local library. the librarian should be able to help him find something appropriate to his age reading level about this subject.
