I wonder how did the Christian Bale as Alfred Borden transform himself, how did he made a a copy of him.

He didn't make a copy of himself - he had a double. And it was not his brother, either.

It was Robert who was able to create a replica of himself using the machine. Though, before that, he also had a double they picked up off the street. I guess they used that old premise that somewhere in the world we all have a "twin".

He had a twin brother. The brother share his life and even cut off his fingers so they could look the same. Great Movie

He was a twin. That is why he was able to do the magic tricks where he was in another place in a matter of seconds. He never used the clone thingy.
