I think it would be raising my children because that is a lifetime task.....but I guess it depends where you are in your life. When it is your time to go you go......

I don't know if I could consider the thing that I most strongly ought to have done a "task" if I were gone tomorrow.
The biggest unfinished task I have right now is the completion of a PhD in philosophy, which will take me another 7 years or so to finish. I've promised a lot of people, including myself, and including some who are no longer living, that I would achieve this, and barring such an untimely death, I intend to do so.
However, the people in my life are more important to me than my academic or professional goals, so the most important unfinished business I have would be the rest of my life being my man's woman, my sister's sister, my best friend's best friend, my aunts' and uncles' niece, and eventually my children's mother.

Being ready for the next life will be my biggest unfinished task. How I lived in this world will reflect how I will be living in the next world. Have I lived a life pleasing to God? Have I done enough to strengthen my spritual qualities so that I would be in a higher station closer to God when my spirit leaves my body?

Thankyou - so much Enki! What an enlightening, food for thought question, Good on 'ya
I'm on the job!
It would have been not writing (as I hold back the tears) -it's Ok to be human- not writing to my missing son to tell him how much I Love him and a few personal otherthings and telling Him once again How deep and how high and how wide and How much God Loves Him again so that when he is found, he will know the Truth.
And also -now- every day be ever more vigilant and diligant (but not a viligante ~smile~) with my walk in Christ, so as to let people know more about How God Loved us SO much, Jesus died for us sinners so we couldbe with Him in heaven for eternity. And not only that, but Jesus also took upon himself Forty minus one stripes, so we may be healed and whole in our Mind Body and Spirits, to live in Peace, Joy and Love on this earth.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed
.........excuse me I am off to write an important letter

I would not have finished writing that book I always promised myself I would write. Sure, I've started it a dozen times and it has such wonderful potential, but the bottom line is, it would be there on little scraps of binder paper and it would be forever and eternally lost and unfinished ... how very sad ...
But now that you're brought it up, that's also one thing I can fix, now where's my pen?

I have unfinished business with my son. I love him dearly and I haven't seen him since he was 13. He is 16 now, he was lured by his father to go live there and then "wrote me off" as a parent, becoming very close to his step mother.

This is the most awesome question...really made us think about what's important in our lives. THANK YOU!!!
Figuring out & doing how I'm supposed to help people...but I am glad that I've taught my daughter the importance of love. She just finished telling me about an argument at school where she stood up for a friend of hers, & I almost cried thinking about what a strong person she is.
I hope I remember to think about this question every day!

My unfinished task would be to let people know they can't just run me over. Because i have a hard time telling people how i feel.so they just think i will take any thing they throw at me.

the task does not end. the work will remain , another will pick up where my task in life has ended, they will know the beginning from that end.I will do the best possible to explain the task but it will be up to the reader to understand what it is and move onward.
