If you are asking why people are hostile towards intelligent people, it is mainly because they are different, or it is from a jealousy.

If you are asking why intelligent people are hostile towards others, it is because they have evolved past the others and have decided instead of trying to pretend to be something they aren't , or lowering to those standards of those in which they are trying to fit in, they would much rather keep to their kind.

You mean intelligent people being hostile or their lifes being hostile? I guess great minds don't get the greatest luxury like some celebutantes we all know. But intelligent people being hostile? Maybe it's like they know that they're a know-it-all, and they show it in a boasting and taunting way.

Which intelligent people are these? I've found people who are afraid of learning and don't want to show their ignorance to be the most hostile and hateful people. Perhaps because they don't understand that learning and alternative viewpoints can be a good thing?

Why do intelligent people life be so hostile? That makes no sense...Go back to school...

Just kidding.

Maybe they like to feel dominant because it's the only time they can be. Maybe they just aren't good at anything else.

I think part of the time it's frustration that they can't be themselves. If person A has learned more than person B, when they have a conversation person A is limited to things that person B understands, and it can be very frustrating to have to "interpret" what you mean so that people can understand you. I think part of the time it's also misunderstanding; if you speak clearly or use words that most people don't use, they tend to take it as anger or snootiness, which isn't always the intention.

And also, it's sometimes just because they really are snooty. All depends on who they are, I guess.

I'm not sure I understand... I consider myself to be an intelligent person and I'm not at all hostile... I tend to be passive if anything.

Intelligence is not necessarily an indication of wisdom,
self-confidence, self-assurance , courage or an outgoing
personality...
