the govt knows everything first, and there have been dozens of former govt and military officials who have claimed to know aliens exist, but they all get ignored, funny how that works. you all say someone would say something or someone would see something but ppl try to all the time and their laughed at. if i saw an alien and took a pic of it and posted in on here, no one would still believe, which raises another point what would it take to convince you aliens are real,...

the govt does know eveyrhting first, they knew there were no weapons of mass destruction but used that as a basis war, much like there doing w/ iran now. beleive i'm not giving them to much credit i've actually done theresearch unlike most of you who pass uneducated guesses as fact, i can tell you all about the bush family including how grandpa prescott was a financial backer for the nazi's and how georege sr was the head of the cia when jfk was killed, not saying he was invovled but he was nonetheless. i can tell you how a former cia director was murdered and dumped in a river b/c he was ready to leak info, i can tell you that army soldiers were toldto satnd down and not go in the cave where they KNEW bin laden was. you can think i'm a fool if you want but the truth hurts and we don't know the half of it....
p.s. i can provide details and links to back evertyhtin up too

no because government is supposed to protect the populous, and this is something they cant do any thing about, making them look weak. plus the religions of the world might have A hard time explaining why the little green men weren't on the ark.

"The government knows everything first"???? Since when??? Just like they knew Iraq had weapons of mass destruction? Or maybe you're impressed with how our government handled a big emergency like Hurricane Katrina? You give the government way too much credit - they aren't smart enough to pull off a cover up of that magnitude. The few (not dozens) people who claim to have info about the aliens are typically low-level employees who never had the sort of clearance they claim to have, and/or are trying to sell something.

If the government did know about aliens, why would they keep that secret from us? Are they keeping it secret from our enemies? Spies can usually find out information like that. Are they keeping it secret for our own good? Since when does the government do something for our own good? It just doesn't add up.

Oh, why assume the government is always the first to know? If, say, an archaeologist dug up something that looked "techie", don't you think it would get passed around the academic community? Since those guys aren't known for their religious fanaticism, I doubt they'd suppress the information - they'd tell the media so they could all get famous. And, since that HASN'T happened, I have to believe that aliens have never visited us - that or the evidence is buried in mountains and glaciers.

If our government knows, so does every other government in the world - and they simply could not and would not keep it covered up...some fool of a bureaucrat would try to make political hay out of it and would blab it all over the place!

No. They wouldn't want to start a panic with the world's population. Besides, they can play with alien technology unrestricted if the public doesnt know about it...

I guess the real question is: If there were aliens out there...Would they be dumb enough to travel across the inmese void of space just to crash their ship in some desert and let themselves be captured? or to trust one (any) goverment?

I don't think so

No because it would spark major controversy because it would conflict with many religions and spread war around the world.
