Hi. RAM is memory and each board of RAM is called a stick in computer lingo. What the answerer means is you may need more RAM. I think that may be right, but something happened at the repair shop to slow things down. You do not mention what the repair was for but I would assume you were having difficulty. Usually a repair shop will set the PC up in the most conservative mode so that it will at least run. This is never the fastest mode. You seem curious but not well versed in computer skills. My best advice is to have someone, perhaps a friend, look at things like actual CPU speed, RAM quantity and speed, and other things that slow down a computer. Good luck!

Sounds like you need more RAM. Just add a stick and it should solve it right away.

Another solution would be to find what is causing your system memory to be eaten. End some processes you don't need running.

The more expensive solution would be to get a new graphics card, but that may not solve the problem completely.

Could be alot of things, but it SOUNDS like your video card's driver is either corrupted and not installed.

It SOUNDS like it's in the default VGA mode which causes the problems you're experiencing.

Check in Device manager to see if your video card's driver is indeed installed or if it's set as VGA default.
