Going through an agonizing decision of whether or not to purchase "Hopper Option" for my disney world tickets (Florida). I'll be there for 3.5 days with my 4-year old boy in Mid-April. Just me (mother) and the boy. This trip is really for him. Can somebody advise me (from past experience perhaps) if the hopper is worth it for a little kid? Not getting the water option, for sure, since there are a number of water fun activities at the hotel (Swan&Dolphin). Any other advice for handing a kid at disney is welcome... Thanks!

I think I would save the money on the hopping. Getting around with a younger child can be a little difficult, but isn't too bad. But, either way, getting from one park to the next takes about an hour. Since you don't have much time, I don't think you would want to spend time going between the parks.

As the other answer said, you can still go in and out of the same park in one day, but you aren't able to go to another park.

I think a base pass would be plenty for you and you will be able to see more in the parks, instead of going between them.

Have a great time!

To me the hopper is a must, no matter the age. Animal Kingdom closes at 5, do you really want to be done for the day. MGM for kids is about a 1/2 day park as the only long lines are the roller coasters. So you can take the boat to EPCOT.

Also there maybe a time when the crowds or weather is bad at one park, hop on a boat, bus or monorail and go someplace else. If is is raining in MK it might be sunny in EPCOT, it is just that big of a place.

Be sure to see the parades at MGM and MK (AK is not as good) and the nightime fireworks (and parade at MK) they are incredible. I know it is late and you will be tired, but you will be wide awake once it starts. We went when my older son was 2, 3, and 4 and it was great. Bring or plan on renting a stroller, it is too much walking for a little one. Drink water not soda or juice as you walk through the park and don't eat just junk, a Disney trip is not for the faint at heart and if you put too much junk in you will start to really run down.

Good luck and have fun!

Hop!!! It realy helps if you are interested in going to all of the firework shows and parades. Plus, you can go back to the hotel and rest and then go to a dufferent park once you are refreshed. Hopping helps you take full advantage of the extra magic hours. Also, it enables you to leave a park and return to the hotel or another park if he gets squirmy. Another thing to consider us that animal kingdom and mgm are not full day parks, especially with young children. However, magic kingdom takes at least 2 days to experience completely and not pass out from exhaustion. I think the asiest way to tour is to use the park hopper option. Ya'll will have so much fun. See you there!!!

I agree with Daddy's response. A park hopper will be a waste. The Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are the best for kids. Enjoy the hotel, and when you do plan to visit the Animal Kingdom, do it first thing in the morning, that's when the animals are most active. Remember that you are planning on going during spring break so expect crowds where ever you are.

A kid at disneyworld isn't as bad as you think it may be. The park hopper option is a no-no with children. You need to just relax and have fun wit your boy. Definately take him to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, that will be the most fun for him. Do not purchase park hopper though, because it will be a waste of money, and too much for him to do in one day. I hope this helped you and if you have any other questions then just let me know.

I'm a fan of the hopper option. What I would do with my children is take them to a park early in the day. When the sun would peak around 11:30 am, I would take them back to the hotel so they could play in the pool prior to an afternoon nap. I would then go back to the parks in the evening for dinner and more rides. It worked out well for both of my children.

You know, in all honesty, you will not need to hop with a child at that age. You can still go back and forth so for example if you wanted to go to Magic Kingdom in the morning and then go take a nap or play by the pool and then go back to the park for the fireworks that night you can but usually I don't recommend parkhopping unless they are a bit older and are more "restless". You guys will have a great time!
Bring sunblock and tons of film!

Well, I would say from experience that I really would only go to Magic Kingdom (Disney) and animal kingdom, they are the 2 most kid friendly places to go for that age group!!
