Hi everyone, I am 5'7 and pre pregnancy, I was already putting on a couple extra pounds (working out ceased to spend time with my other half) - I was around 155 lbs. I just weighed myself, and have been weighing in at arounf 162-163, and I'm 167 now!!!!!! I have never gained this much, when I was 155... I had never gained that much!

Is this pretty normal weight gain? the nurses or doctor have not said anything to me about it... But I am afraid I will gain 50 or 60 lbs like a lot of the women I know and take years to lose it!

I have been working out very lightly just to keep my self a little bit more energetic....

anyone have any advice? am I just overreacting...?

I am 5'5" and was 119 before I got pregnant and at my last appt at 20 weeks I was 134. I thought it was a big gain since with my first pregnancy I lost about 10lbs during the first half and then ended up putting on around 40 by the time my son was born. I lost every bit plus some withen 6 weeks though. I am just trying to keep a watch on my weight and not let it get out of hand. I know that when the baby is born I will loose the weight between breastfeeding and chasing after my son. Good Luck

What I had to do became start up eating 4 nutrition an afternoon, and snacking in between. i'd have breakfast then bypass to college. In 2nd type I had my instructor lest us consume so i'd have a pair fruit cups or some yogurt or nuts or something, then have lunch, then final type my instructor we could us consume so I truly have yet another snack of despite i did no longer consume at lunch. Then after college i'd consume till i became crammed. Like i'd consume multiple nutrition. Then some hours later i'd have dinner. Then after dinner if snack returned. i locate it is not truly the nutrition I consume that helps me earnings weight, that is how plenty nutrition I consume and how in many cases I consume. I gained ten pounds in a million/2 a three hundred and sixty 5 days doing this :P

I am a mother of 3 girls youngest will be one in August. Every person is different just as every pregnancy is. My first I gained 45lbs the last 35lbs. It may seem like alot know but if you do watch the junk food you will be just fine. You may gain alot in the begining of your pregnancy and tapper off toward the end. If your Doctor is'nt concern you shouldn't be, you dont need the stress right now so don't let it bother you.

I'd say you're probably right on track. If your doc isn't worried, you shouldn't be either. Personally, I have a hard time gaining in my pregnancies (the only time in my life I have trouble putting on weight!!). I'm 18 weeks and after losing around 10 lbs, I've finally put on 2lbs. Best of luck.

my doc says : 2-5 lbs the first trimester and about a pound a week after that.

i am 17 wks and lost 5lbs the first trimester due to sickness. i gained 4 of it back and have maintained that weight. he wants me to gain more now.

you need about 25-35lbs your WHOLE pregnancy, the rest is extra fat but as long as its not too much u should lose by breastfeeding.

just keep following docs orders.

My wife gained about 50-60lbs, but she had preclamsia (results in high blood pressure and swelling and is common with first pregnancy), so it was mainly water weight. She lost about 50lbs within 2-3weeks of the baby being born. Just ask your doctor on the next check up.
