i need one that's appropriate for a 14 yr-old girl. my mom hates these magazines cuz she thinks they're inappropriate, even though they're not, really:

all the gossip magazines like j-14, m, and tigerbeat

my mom used to buy me 17, there is nothing bad at all in that magazine... it actually has a lot of good information and stories for teenage girls. i don't know about cosmo for someone ur age, some of the stuff in there isn't really for a 14 year old. and the others are pretty much all pictures, the worst things in those are teen hearthrobs... just steer clear of cosmo for now and ur mom really shouldn't see any problems. (personally i love cosmo, but i'm 6 yrs. older than u.)

i love people but i am an adult.your mom just wants to what is right for you and not expose you to a bunch of trash thats good,so many parents dont have a clue what their kids are looking at you are lucky.but i think tigerbeat is a good magazine for a girl your age.good luck.

Let her read the magazines. My favorite magazines are Seventeen, People, Teen People, Cosmogirl, and etc. Show your mom that their is nothing bad in the magazines. Tell her that many girls read them to learn about topics that people your age want to know about.

You could get Salt Water Girl I love that magazine.
Its sporty it encourages you it tells you all you need to know about life in general though it is a bit, a tiny bit like 17, oh and BTW its only in South Africa as far as I know.

seventeen is a good magazine! nothing is wrong with it. tell ur mom that in one of the issues, they show that before u have it, talk with ur parents or noe ur consequences nd they give u real life stries of 16 yr olds who got pregnant nd it discourages u to do so.
