I've heard that if you're doing affirmations its best to do them each day. What is the best affirmation you can do each day. I'm looking for a simple daily affirmation for general wellbeing.

I always like the classic one started by Emile Coue. He was the father of autosuggestion. He was really the pioneer of all kinds of affirmations and self-hypnosis work.

He taught a simple affirmation which goes,

"In every day, in every way, I am getting better and better."

It's also very helpful when you're doing a daily affirmation to express gratitude. It seems to open us up to receive more when we feel truly happy and thankful.

So you might try this as a daily affirmation:

"I am so thankful for the blessings I am receiving today. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Try to do this affirmation when you feel good and can take a moment to be in a positive emotional space. This strengthens the power of your affirmations.

My book Why Most Affirmations Fail and the Four Building Blocks of Successful Affirmations goes into greater detail about how to "tweak" your daily affirmations to make them work for you.

Affirmations are more of life lessons - make an affirmation on what you've learned today.

For a long time, I have tried to live up to my resolution "to do something good to somebody everyday." The good deed does not have to be huge; it is enough that it was done with good intentions and with no expectations of receiving something in return.

Here's one that was popular about 100 years ago...it still applies today

"Every day in every way my life is getting better and better. "

You can substitute any other wording in that for any goal or outcome. For example, "every day I am getting slimmer" or "every day my health is improving," "every day I am becoming a better (typist, driver, speller)" etc.
