A good friend of mine has gotten new friends and spends all of her free time with them. We used to see eachother all of the time, but now she spends her time with them. She and I talk on the phone almost daily, like we used to still. But, she never invites me to go anywhere with her new group of friends. It's not that I would actually want to, because I don't like these friends. I think they are for lack of better word "trashy". I've never told her that or hinted at that thought around her. I just think it would be nice if she tried to include me. I would always include her when I would hang with other people. I wish she wouldn't deal with these people and things would be like they were before. What do I do? I've tried to talk to her about hanging out but she is always with them.

Sounds like you have become the "home" friend, not the "school" friend. This is tricky....I have little respect for people who shun certain friends at school but then act like everything is ok when they are at home. But I try to remember what it was like being a teenager and I didn't know back then what I know now.

Honestly, it is not something you can force. You need to decide whether you even want this girls friendship...and kissing her a** or trying to "woo" her back is a bad idea that will make you look desperate. I would try to find another set of friends as well and sort of move on... The dynamics of high school change so quickly that it will not be uncommon for all the players to be different next year....this too shall pass :-)

Part of life is growing up and finding who you are. Your friend is probably testing different waters to see where she fits in best. Be a good friend and give her time and space to find who she is.

you should try to make other friends too.
you can still be friends with her, but try to move on and find other people to hang out with. then maybe shell relize that she wants you back, but if not, then you have better people to hang out with anyway.i have a friend that is doin this to me too, but i have made alot of new friends this year, and we are still good friends, but it was just time to move on. friends grow apart. i know its hard to move on, but you will.
