EPCOT is divided into two seperate areas. Here is a brief description of both:
Future World -
This is the land you walk into at the main entrance of the park under the big Epcot ball (Spaceship Earth). This is the front section of the park which has a contemporary theme and therefore is called "Future World". This is where you will find most of the big thrill rides.
World Showcase -
This is the largest area of the park which is developed around a large lake. This is a very unique area of the park where you will find realistic themed lands for the world's major countries. Each country has unique shops, restaurants, and some have a ride or attraction as well. At night-time you can watch amazing firework show called Illuminations: Reflections of the Earth on the lake.
I recommend you browse the park website for more helpfull information:

Future World is where the big "sphere" of Epcot is. It's the first part of Epcot center when you walk into the park and is considered the "front". The World Showcase is where all the countries are located at Epcot and tends to be open later because they have festivities like parade and such back there.

Future World focuses on technology and, well, futury stuff!! It has all of the major attractions, and contains several pavillions: The Seas with Nemo and friends, which houses the new nemo ride and Turtle Talk with Crush, as well as an aquarium; The Land pavillion, which houses Soarin! (my personal favorite attraction), that boat ride, and The Circle of Life film; Innoventions East and West, which houses some of the latest technological trends; Universe of Energy, which is basically just a ride with Ellen Degeneres; Wonders of Life, which has Body Wars, Cranium Command, and others; The Imagination Pavillion, which houses Honey I Shrunk the Audience and Journey into the Imagination with Figment; Test Track, and Spaceship Earth (the "big ball") (I think that's all of them.). The World Showcase is basically small scale representations of countries all around the world. They don't have much to offer as far as attractions; Mostly just films, other than Norway and Mexico, which have boat rides. However, they have some of the best food
WDW offers, as well as gorgeous panaramas and interesting shopping that are right out of the country being represented.

Epcot has 2 separate sectoins: Future World, whichhas all of the major rides, as well as several interactive technological pavillions, and the World Showcase, which contains small representations of many countries around the world.
Future world has allof the rides so try to enjoy that to its fullest extent and make sure that you eat at the Paris world showcase, it has some really amazing italian food.
Enjoy your vacation, the food, and stay safe and have fun.

Future World, I believe, is the front half - the first section with Spaceship Earth, Theater, Road Test, Aquarium -
World Showcase is the back half of the park - where all the countries are around the lake, and usually opens later than the front - - is also where the fireworks are shown

World Showcase is a collection of pavillions of different countries with various shops, restaurants, rides, etc.. relating to the specific country. Future World has everything related to the future! There are rides, restaurants, etc.. as well.

in case you're spending the day in Epcot, you will see parts of the two. start up out at park commencing off time in Furutre worldwide. Do Soarin first, then attempt music and undertaking area (in case you dare!). Do in spite of else you like in destiny worldwide, then head lower back to the worldwide exhibit for lunch. Bop around the a number of international locations till dinner (verify to have reservations someplace - like Le Cellier or Mexico), and verify to work out Illumintaions fireworks - amazing!! Have a astonishing time.
