They are both very different games. One is a fighter game where you go around Ancient Greece and slaughter anything that moves and figure out puzzles and end it with the God of War Ares. Shadow of the Colossus is a game where you solely fight different forms of huge colossi, eighteen I believe all in total I can't remember now. And it is from the creators of Ico, so if you enjoyed Ico a lot you will enjoy Shadow of the Colossus. If you enjoy raw, violent, bloody and gruesome games you will enjoy God of War.

God of War and Shadow of the Colossus are both great games.
If you want intense, non-stop action then God of War is the game you should get. Shadow of the Colossus has action also, but it's just not as intense. Shadow of the Colossus is just a beautiful game, with an engaging story. Although, God of War's storyline is just as good. The bosses in Shadow of the Colossus will require you think and use strategy more than God of War. In conclusion, God of War is more straight-forward and Shadow of the Colossus requires thinking to take down the bosses and to complete the game.

GOD OF WAR, MOST DEFINETLY! I have it, and it's awesome. This character that you play as (His name is Kratos) is just an insane, crazy, mind-blowing bad ***. He's an extreme hot head and will kill anyone that stands in his way. The combos and action in this game is AMAZING! The graphics are amazing and just so much intense action and blood. Plus, there are a couple of puzzle solvers, and LOADS of extra content when you beat it. Thousands of upgrades, magic, new combos, intense boss battles, amazing enviornment, great music, and won several awards, including Best PS2 game, and Game of the Year. Overall it's a great game, your going to have a LOT of fun with this game and you're gonna really enjoy. If you don't mind a whole lot of blood and little nudity here and there, this is the game for you. Plus, be sure to get God of War II. It's even better than the 1st.

It's extremely hard to pick that because they're both fairly different games with really different plots and elements...
But, I'm a firm believer that Shadow of the Collossus is one of the best games there is, so I'd pick it as slightly better.

get a free xbox 360 for better looking games or you can get the cash equivalent

personally, they would be better if they combined the two, KRATOS VS THE COLOSSUS!!! WHO WOULD WIN!!!
