Ok, we have all heard that every democrate has a plan for Iraq, but all i've heard is leave now and hang Iraq to dry, or stay to win, but do it in a different way than President Bush (how, i don't know).
Has anybody heard Clinton, Obama, or Pelosi say any specific plan other than "we can do it better than Bush"?
i'm getting so sick and tired of the talk. They told us they would do better in Congress, and they haven't done a bloody thing save for a "non-binding, anti troop surge resolution", basically telling the President that they hate what he's doing (what they told him to do after 9/11) and that their against sending more troops, but they won't officially condem it because it just might work and won't they look silly then!!@
If you have heard of any real plan that any Dem canidates have, could you please answere?
And sorry this is so long, but the question is driving me nuts.

It looks like a lot of people also feel like the Democrats don't have a plan.
To some of the people who say that anyone could do better than Bush, and ask how anyone is expected to figure out a way to solve this problem,
This is (most likely) what the next President will have to deal with. If the next president goes into office saying to him or her self "how is anyone supposed to do this, because i can't", then our country and Iraq will be a lot worse off, because at least President Bush is trying to adjust his plan.
Even if Democrats would try to adjust the plan, it would be something, so i'm going to leave this question up a bit more and see if anyone actually knnows if the democratic party has said anything at all. Because if they expect to be in charge, they better get a plan, quick.

Take a deep breath, calm down and KNOW: Liberal democrats do NOT have a plan for the war, a plan for illegal immigration, a plan for tax reform (get rid of the IRS) or a plan for anything of substance.
The PLAN is take over the white house...period. The rest will revert to traditional tax and spend democratic agendas such as national health care, medicare, minimum wage and blah blah blah.
So relax, vote your conscience for the candidate you feel best represents your interests and core beliefs REGARDLESS of the part affilliation. It is a LIE that voting Indipendent or Libertarian is a vote for either republicans or democrats. The ONLY people preaching that lie are the republicans and democrats...
The truth is that your vote is precious and you shouldn't spend in on either republicans or democrats unless you strongly believe they will best represent your interests. To violate that promise is the only way you can waste your vote.

Two years ago I was looking for a plan from either our current President or the Democrats.
Honestly speaking, I have not heard an outline of what the Democratic presidential candidates plan to do, nor what the Democratic congress plans to do in detail.
I have heard a deadline to get out is 2008.
You are very passionate but Toklosh is right. This is a civil war. Iraq has many complex problems and they will not be solved by the Democrats or the Republicans here in America.
If we defeat all the insurgents that are foreign born and bred, Iraq will still have internal religious, secular, political, and familial (clans) struggles. A strong government will lean to one or a few sides rather than the other or others. It might even be another dictatorship. A weak government will just ensure the fighting will escalate.
If our leaders protect our "interests" there, big business will probably be the only winners and the rest of the world will cry foul. Other nations will say we created a puppet government.
If we don't protect our interests, I am afraid the Republicans are right on that issue. The country will sell lots of oil to our enemies, get richer and create more problems for us.
If a weak government or even a coalition one, is in place after U S/Ally troop pull out, then everyone will say "we left Iraq vulnerable".
This war is the best example of catch 22 I can think of....There is no possible way to "win". All the U S can do is try to rid the country of as many outside trouble makers as possible and help to make the country stable as possible.
The rest is in the hand of the divine.
There is no plan. And no need to fault either party for not having one.
Seriously, I don't know what the hell we could do.

As none of the above answers answered your question, I will try to do so.
How do you expect the Democrats to have a plan to 'win' a civil war? Which happened because Bush never had a 'plan' to begin with?
Any 'plan' the Dems come up with will surely be vetoed by Bush. This Administration had the perfect opportunity of leaving Iraq when Saddam was captured, but they were to busy looking for WMDs. Which weren't there to start with.
Now Fox News has somehow convinced Americans that not supporting the war (civil war) is 'not supporting' the troops.
Even here you have silly people obsessing about supporting the troops with 'yellow ribbons' and cr*p like that.
How dumb can one get?

I have not heard a good plan as of yet BUT how do you come up with a good plan of what to do in a war that we entered into on the lies that we were force fed by BushCo as a way to get us into a major conflict to take control of the Oil Fields of Iraq as well as bolster the profit of huge companies like Halaburton, GM, Boeing and the other military suppliers. The biggest thing to me is they are sucking our Treasury dry and generations and generations to come will be paying the price. It is interesting that this all comes at the time the BOOMERS are fixing to retire on Social Security and we will soon be told, not of how they are attempting to prop it up but how the coffers are empty! Thank You BushCo! I am sure Cheney Rove and the rest of BushCo will be rewarded for their actions by Big Business! Several of the Big companies have already taken the jobs overseas and soon we will be told that we can retire when both feet are in the grave.
You want to know how the Democrats are going to fix this? My suggestion would be to start with charging all of BushCo with extortion and murder as the lies they told to get us into this mess should be felonies and putting our service people in harms way is then murder under the felony murder law. We just have to get BushCo and the marionette out of office so the puppet can not pardon the guilty

the two the Dem's' and re pubs' can hardly agree on something even while they % an identical element. till you flow to c-span you will no longer see plenty coverage of 0.33 celebration applicants. great companies make extensive contributions to applicants they help, you're constrained in how plenty you may donate to a candidate individually. companies set up committees and communities to assist and fund applicants. the main present financial disaster rules have been written with the help of the banking marketplace for congress to make into regulation and it bit them interior the butt. the different concern is that some human beings vote for one million celebration all of the time, the two because of fact they help that celebration all of the time and have faith that's the only celebration to do whats precise,or they're upset with the different celebration for some reason. the two events % it their way and could compromise some to get their way. If what I examine on the internet final night is even 0.5 genuine, this election will possibly no longer count besides. If we've yet another attack like 9/11 or a substantial catastrophe in the previous the elections F.E.M.A . will take administration and George Bush will exchange into the genuine potential of government. If it happens after the elections and in the previous the hot president takes place of work,i do no longer comprehend what's going to take place. G.W. signed an government order for the continuity of government and F.E.M.A. will take over and droop the form and the President would be the team spirit government. Congress and the superb court docket will nonetheless exist yet might have little or no voice, the President has the main suitable say in all concerns. there grew to become into additionally yet another internet site speaking with regard to the formation of the North American Union (Canada,U.S. and Mexico forming a union like the E.U. and the U.S. shape would be long previous.

The problem is, they dont have a plan, all they do is critique the way President Bush is handeling things.
When they make a plan that is more than just leave and let terrorist groups take over and make Iraq thier own personal haven, then maybe people might listen to those idiots.

Sincerely, neither side has a plan that is viable. "Staying the course" is idiotic, and has already been shown not to work. On the other hand, this administration has caused this mess, and I believe it is our job the the ones who made said mess to clean it up.
We had no business going into Iraq from day one, but since we did, we're stuck there. How sickening. Just another reason, IMO to hate GWB and his cohort of evil liars.
And, unlike those who've replied with nothing but insults, I will freely say I'm not an expert in the subject of warfare, Middle East relations, diplomacy or anything else pretinent to the subject. I'm just an average American citizen sick of this administration doing the same thing, and expecting a somehow different outcome. I don't know what our alternatives are, but I refuse to accept there are none to what we are currently doing.
And regardless of your political leanings, each and every American should be sickened each time a 19 year old kid comes home dead, and our administration says things are working, when they clearly know they are not. I don't care who comes up with a way out, just please let someone!

There are several Democratic plans for Iraq out there, look around. Your biggest question should be after 4 years what is the Republicans plan? It seems they haven't had one from the beginning so now would be a good time. Don't you think?

When a mentally disturbed child repeatedly bangs his head against the wall and injures himself, and you want to help him, the first thing to do is to get him to stop banging his head against the wall.
The pointless war in Iraq will accomplish no lasting benefit for us. It should never have been started. It should now be stopped. I do not mean in 2008. I mean NOW.
