You are judging an entire country by the opinions of yahoos on yahoo answers? Now repeat that back to yourself. Does that seem wise at all?

Every country at one point or another has made some awful decisions. You are just running into belligerent people on Yahoo Answers that are argumentative and jingoistic - how do you even know that they are American? I am sure that there are some objectionable Dutch people too. Do they speak for your country, for you? You seem very judgmental and quick to stereotype. You need to learn to separate a countries policies from its people before you slander an entire population based on views gathered from dubious sources. I have found that many Europeans do not really know as much about America or Americans as they think they do unless they have lived here for a while. Most know some basics and what they see on TV, but the subtleties and details elude them. Please do not judge so quickly.

Your WW2 info - although operation market garden failed (a mission lead by the British General Montgomery) it pains me that you so casually disregard the blood spilt by American and allied soldiers in their efforts to liberate the Netherlands. Young men from half a world away die trying to help your countrymen and you write it off just like that. One of those young men fighting in the European theater was my grandfather. If you were from a Slavic country you would probably not appreciate the Russians actions in WW2 quite so much. If you recall, they had agreements of non-interference with Hitler that enabled him to contain the war and not have it expand to too many fronts for him to handle. (German-Soviet Non-aggression Pact 1939) So in fact, part of the domination and slaughter of the populations of several countries in Europe can be laid partly at the Russian government’s door.

you can't be serious right? I'm American I'm 24 i work in an office. My favorite thing to do is help people for the common good. I'm not much of a threat, than again I'm only speaking for myself, and the other that feel the same as i do. Things will get better. Our government isn't doing so hot right now. That is the great thing about this country, America. Eventually we will get sick of these corrupt heathens. Things will change for the better.

I am sorry you feel this way.

However, when I go over to the UK & Ireland boards, almost half the posts there are concerning how horrible America is, how American culture is taking over, how fat and stupid Americans are, etc. Not to mention the anti-American posts on our own boards, although not as frequent.

So you can't really blame Americans for defending their country when it is constantly being blazed. How would you respond to a question like "Why are all Belgians so fat and stupid?". Now how would you feel after reading that over and over and over? You would eventually become defensive. We may have our bi-partisan differences, but I think the vast majority of us are still proud of who we are and love our country.

If you havent visited the USA before, I urge you to come here and experience what a great country it is first-hand. Please don't let a handful of idiots on YA change your opinion.

I understand who you can come to that conclusion by your visit to Q&A, but believe me, the people here are not indicitive of most Americans.

Keep in mind that Americans are every emotional when itcomes to politics and are thus prone to be defensive when attacked..just as those in Europe. Look into your own country's political issues between the Flemings and Walloons. We really are not so different.

The USA helps to fund NATO which allows your country to spend less on your defense programs. Should you leave NATO your country would have to increase the tax pressure you and your countrymen are already under in order to fill the gap in funds. (I understand, as you do, that the US takes advantage of these funds to push their agenda though.)

Have a great day, judge this American for who I am, not on the actions of others.
( I've been to Assen and Amsterdam..what great towns)

Sorry you feel that way. This forum is not representative of all Americans. There are more extreme viewpoints expressed here than would be in a face-to-face situation. I'm not sure if it's because of the anonymity that Y!A allows or another reason.

Good luck to you. Have a Stella Artois for me. My favorite beer!

Hey guy what are you doing speaking English if you hate Americans so much? As far as I know you guys speak either Deutch or French. Be careful with stereotyping. I used to be (and think) like you until I lived (almost 10 years) in the US. Today I can definitely separate the American Government from its people. Even when they take sides (like when they supported Bush) it happens because they truly believe it might be the best for their country. One advantage of their system: They can "overthrow" Bush while others have to swallow their leaders.

America is more dangerous then any other nation on earth .
It is in an advanced stage of imperial growth to keep it solvent .
Most americans are unaware of just how bad the future is going to be .
With 78 million people slated to retire in the next 10 years and more after that our programs of pensions and social security are facing major problems .
They must continue to hold wages down in order to try and keep inflation from spiraling out of control .
30 years ago a man who worked 40-50 hours a week at the lowest paying job could afford a home . Back then you could by a lot and house for 10,000 Today you can not buy anything for under 50,000 have the wages gone up by the same margin .

The real battle in America is its racism .

To keep blacks down they decided to destroy the educational system and people needed to privately educate kids if they wanted them to get along in society .

This kept the middle class able to give their kids a college degree which allows them to work for substancially hire wages then others .

That became the dividing line .
Education is the line and it was enied millions and millions of kids throught the 70's 80's and 90's to the point the system no longer produces enough smart people to educate the rest of society .
They become the work force and are destine to poverty and long hours at work for nothing But subsistence wages .
Then the government comes along and tells you about an adventure in the army and how you can become one of the people with a home and nice things and money in the bank and make it out of debt .

This is how America intends to expand . Imperialism .
We will slowly take over the raw materials needed for all production of goods world wide where we can .
Certain processes require certain raw materials today and control of them is key .
We want the oil fields where ever they may be .
We want the cooper reserves ,zinc and other metals so vital to mass production and have secured the rights to these materials and have military bases close by . Diamonds and gold are nice but platinum is king .

We have plenty of land to grow crops graze cattle and feed americans . What we need is the raw materials and we are going after them now before it to late .

Our landfils are really just storage facilities waiting to be utilized .
We have mountains of materials buried In america . Our dumps of the 50and 60's and 70's are chuck full of materials from all over the world .
Plus we have billions of tons in storage or cooper nickel iron magnesium zinc and other raw materials saved up .

Control of the world by a small group is the goal of a handful of men around the world . Most of whom reside in America and are going to screw the other men when the time is right .
This may not happen for 30 more years . But a war is need and expansion .
And religion is the tool .
Christians rallied against Muslims is the real agenda .

I to am worried about where we are going and it does not look good for all of you outside the united states .

We have people listening in to every lab in the world and are recruiting the brightest minds to come to america . 3 billion people on planet earth and only one Einstein .Brilliant minds are like winning lottery tickets . rare .
Educating millions does not make an Einstein he is a special and rare individual . So are people like him . Inventors /scientists who look for solutions .
Our best minds today are building weapons /so what does that tell you .
I am concerned also and live in America .
Not all of us are like the Bush family or the elite who have manipulated the poor and left them with an indoctrination rather then an education .
Its dangerous ,very dangerous .

After being on these forums for a while, I can't take exception to your opinions. Viewing this as you must being from another country, it might be easy to take these forums as being representative of a cross section of the American public.

All I can say is that they aren't.
These forums should never be taken seriously.
Have a good day.

Not at all, I find that you have a lot of extreme ideology, hatred and general venomous speech on here. Not just directed at other nations however at their fellow Americans.

I am not sure how a country that attempts to sell itself on a platform of freedom and moral high ground can be so very backwards. They are a country that preaches freedom, but will hand over rights, or the first to tell you what you can, and cannot do. They are a country that preaches morality however will be the first to fling and insult, not only to others but amongst themselves.
