I a bunch of historic characters who have done a whole lot more and don't have a holiday.
They should call this day, lazy farmworkers who didn't do anything for history but got a holliday anyway day.

Stop blaming others for your problems. Mexicans are here cause you wont close the border and youre more than happy to pay them dirt wages to work your fields. Get it together.

Frankly, he was a trouble maker that would not conform to the Laws of the land. California needed a Mexican for a Holiday. Ceasar was their good choice.

The sad thing is that practically all governmental agencies get a paid Holiday at the taxpayers' expense. But, practically all Mexicans work that day.

I would rather have seen an Observation Day, time off would be OK...but not a paid Holiday.

Same goes for MLK Jr, Veterans Day, and a few others.

Here in Cailifornia, the university system neglected to be closed for President's Day but is closed for Ceasar Chavez Day. Have our priorities become so screwed up that two of the most important men in our Nation's history have taken a back seat so that Spring Break can be extended by a day? I recognize and understand the contribution Mr. Chavez made to help the farm workers, but to have a National Holiday in his honor does a dishonor to many other Americans who made equal or greater contributions to our Nation.

The person who called Martin Luther King an adulterer must be one of those people who believe every lie delivered by the mass media.

Oh boy, do you people deserve the Government you've got!

Well, personally, I don't think he does deserve a holiday. Neither does martin luther king. I am all for civil rights, but I wish somebody would have chosen men of integrity and high character to honor with a holiday. I do not honor rabble-rousers and hypocrites (such as an ordained minister who is a habitual adulterer).

Dear ignorant poster. You have spelled "holiday" incorrectly. Perhaps you might revisit English class at the same time as you learn some historical facts?
