Gerry Adams has neither sold his soul nor been beaten down by American backers. He has merely turned to a more effective method - politics - to get what he wants - a united Ireland.

Gerry Adams is hypocrisy walking on two legs. He has had to comply or lose face. He is now an embarrassment to his former backers..well most.
It is not him who is responsible for the success of the peace process but the Irish people themselves both Republican and NI. They want to move forward after centuries of repression and suffering...who can blame them.
And of course those who stand to become very rich out of the peace process and that is not the ordinary man in the street but the IRA thugs turned drug dealers.
And I think that Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness are the biggest pair of thugs of all ..but have to be seen to be doing the right thing nowadays.

The IRA undoubtedly have had to come to terms with their terrorist past. They could no continue to claim, as they had in the past, that they were 'freedom fighters'.
The IRA have made great strides in the direction of peace. They have put must of the past behind them. They have disarmed and reduced their street presence to virtually nil. The IRA have given up all their crime activities, extortion rackets etc.
I do not expect the Rev. Doctor Ian Paisley and Gerry Adams to fall in love with each other. No. This is not going to happen. What is happening instead is a recognition that both sides can come together and 'share power'
Watch this space.

Yes I think now the USA actually know the difference between terrorism and freedom fighters, they are less quick to pay them, but as is obvious a Government has to give the ok to these terrorists, cui bono = who benefits?

Neither, its because the British government has offerred both parties 50 billion pounds for them to power share together, this is on top of the 30 billion they have already received. And the British tax payer is paying for all this.

Mr Adams is the master of spin. All politicians sell their souls very day just so they can hold on to the bit of power they have. Adams is no different regardless who pays for it.
