From my experience, the Scottish are well liked in most other countries as are the Irish. The english are not so popular and nobody talks about the Welsh.

I love the UK, though my husband is British so I may be a bit biased. I've been amazed at how little America really knows about the UK (one girl honestly asked me if I had to teach my husband English when he first came here). We have a lot of really ignorant people who know nothing about th rest of the world. But it seems even people who know little about the UK still love the people and most would agree that it is like America only not quite as good (dumb, I know). I get the feeling the rest of the world thinks you are like the Americans only they don't hate you quite as much because you are more liberal.

Be really careful answering this! I answered a similar question to this a week ago and got a violation! The worst of it is I am a Brit so I can have a joke about our stereotypes. I included the following: bad teeth, pots of tea, cucumber sandwiches. So don't include those or you may lose points!

Ive always had a thing for guys with british accents very cute. Generally british people are usually nice to me. Occasionally at work Ive had people be quite rude to me. These are most likely the few who think americans are rude people with no manners. I think thats more a case of a few rude americans ruining our image.
In general people I know and myself find brits nice and possesive of a good sense of humour. Lots of americans find the accents very attractive, both male and female.

Italians think English people are too pale, can't cook, and drink too much. Apart from that, they have a high opinion of you, especially of your sense of humour and even, surprisingly - given that Brits have a regrettable tendency to wear shorts on holiday - of your dress sense. This generally high opinion is exceeded only by their idolatry of their great American liberators ... these views are not shared by all Italians however!

You have a Queen. That's almost a fairy tale in itself.
But Archie Bunker says "England is a Fa* country."

A friend of mine is fascinated by the British accent, and imitates it almost constantly. He has told me on many occasions that he feels British children seem more "proper" than American children. Since I am not him, nor have I talked to him in quite some time, I do not fully understand his reasonings behind this judgement, but I believe it has something to do with British accents sounding more sophisticated than American accents (probably because we are not as used to hearing it as we are our own), and the fact that a British child can speak with a "sophisticated" British accent must make them more sophisticated than American children. But again, I am not my friend, so I can only guess why he feels this way. I personally think any man with a foreign accent is comepltely to die for, reguardless of what country he is from!

what do other parts of the world really think of us Americans? i'd say you have nothing to worry about ... everyone hates the USA except for the USAeans. Brits are cool... i'd like to date one actually. most seem outgoing and with a great sense of humor. and of the Brit girls i've met they have great genetics... intelligent and good looking. Rock on Brits!

Difficult to say, really. I'm sure there's some residual animosity lurking from the days of Empire, but the contributions of Britain to the world have been enormous. In the sciences alone we have Newton and Priestley and Farraday and many more to thank for so much.
