I like CD myself, but I've known people who swear by vinyl, and others who only seem to download mp3s... so what's best in your eyes (or, indeed, ears), and why?

Mp3 that way i can download exactely what song i like i was never into cds because i would buy it and listen to it and then end up wasting all that money for a cd i only like 2 songs on.

I prefer CD, vinyl needs looking after to much for my liking plus you get more music on a CD, as vinyl starts losing its base if you put a long album on it ,CD sounds better than mp3 even though CDs are old tech,mp3s sound pretty dull to me because they are squashed on a small file so don't sound as dynamic on a good stereo, so at the moment CD is the best option for me seeing SACD and Audio DVD have not really taken off at the moment.
I never buy copies either because I like to see and have the full package something else you don't get with mp3's.

CDs mean carnage! I used to have a CD player in my car but every time I had to change a disc I almost drove into a school bus.
Now that I have an MP3 player I don't have to fish out CDs and open and close a player, etc. Now the children are safe.
Yes, MP3 is very compressed and thus, lossy. Oh well, they are better than cassette tape.

download itunes songs. Larger selection than going to the store and I can just put the songs on my ipod and have everything there when I want to listen to a particular song. Plus some Cd's just have horrible songs! This way we know what we're buying!

Vinyl cos I have decks and cant get all the tunes I like on cd
or mp3.

i grew up with vinyl but i prefere cds i have not listened to mp3 so i cant comment on it
