Okay, God created heaven and earth. so be it.

he controls the weather ; the rains, lighting, floods (we all know) etc.

If God is doing all of this , then who is mother nature, what is she doing to the environment and how did knowledge of this woman come about.

This question is a bit confused. "Mother" nature is a euphemism, not an actual woman. Just like "Father Frost" isn't a man.

Most people believe that God created the world as a natural place, with natural physical laws that govern normal phenomenon. Most people do not assume that God directly creates every separate cloud, breeze, and raindrop. Floods and other natural disasters can often be traced directly to predictable phenomena, such as the damming of a river that changes its flow, and so on. I hope this explanation helps.

Does God make it rain or did God put into motion the laws and elements that account for the rain? If man makes a car the car does not all of a sudden become sentient. The car does what it was designed by man to do. Nature does what nature was designed to do.

confusion! Mother nature is a god... according to the pagan belife..
she has been around BC when the old religion was in place and was the main releigion. Then when Jesus was born they took over being the main religion. looks like somethings were carred over from the pagan beleifes to the christans. But what ever you call it him or her that's someone you don't want to tick off! :)

She is non-existent. Man 'named her' to account for what lies behind the forces of nature.

Since some won't accept that God is who He says He is, they came up with this fictitious 'woman' creature who is supposed to have given birth to the rain, wind, etc.

They also made a habit of naming all hurricanes after women. Women are supposed to be responsible for all the bad things, or terrible happenings in nature.

It's nonsense but that's how it is.

This is a pagan belief. As for what is she doing to the environment? Nothing, we are destroying the earth with our thoughtless, lazy, and selfish acts.

I really do not understand why the unbelievers who do not believe in spiritualism feel the need to come and tell the ones who really do believe, that they do not believe in anything. To the remarks? I really could care less what you believe in, just like you could care less what I believe in.

Mother nature is a name/title, we had to name it like everything else., So really there is no "she".
It is part of creation and is here to nurture us humans, nature is what it is for a greater reason, we are part of it.
What and how we choose to preserve nature, is a whole different ball game.

"Mother nature" IS the earth and all thats involved with it. "God" (a relative term) supposedly created it as well as human beings, human beings have and still are destroying it & "God".

What type of entity would create another which would destroy other entities it created as well as himself???? A flawed one, a selfish one, an ingorant one, a corrupt one, a greedy one...... Sound familiar??? Yes we were made in its image! Sadly.

I think the phrase comes from the fact that nature nurtures, and mothers nurture. Hence, "Mother Nature."

if you wish to reconcile the two, mother nature works for god and is a part of him as we all are.
