i am almost 14 weeks pregnant and starting a new job tomorrow. no one has any idea im pregnant and i am thinking about waiting a month to tell anyone. it is a retail job so there is no toxic chemicals or anything like that that i have to be worried about for the babys sake. my stomach is sticking out pretty much so i am worried someone may ask and i will ahve to tell. thanks!

I started a new job at 5 months pregnant and I was still barely showing, and I told my boss once I started training for it; not during the interview but the day that my job officially started and I began to train. She took it very well; we had another pregnant employee at the time who was 3 months along.

I told my job when I was about 6 weeks along. I was looking outside the company for a new job and found out I was pregnant. When I went in for my 2nd interview for the job I told them I was about 6 weeks pregnant and wanted to know how that would affect my training for job or would it. In the end after talking with my husband, we decided it would be best if I stayed at my current job becuase I have 5 years and 40 sick days. So I believe it would be best if you told them now. You never know if you will have a bad morning and have to stay out of work for some time or doctor visits that will require you to miss time from work.

I told mine when I was about 3 1/2 months. But I've been here 6 years at that time. And there were 2 other pregnant women also.

Well, at my first job I told everyone right away. I work for my dad and uncle, and was just so excited I had to tell my dad at least. At my second job, which is retail, I waited until I was 13 weeks and into my second trimester. You have no obligation to tell them you are pregnant, and if they ask you don't have to tell them. You may want to tell them at some point in time, just incase they ask you to carry something heavy, or you have to go on bed rest at some point in time. Eventually they will know from your growing tummy, but there is no law requiring you to tell them.

I would tell them just out of consideration, they may have to hire someone to temporarily replace you when you give birth and take maternity leave and that could take a while or they may want someone very part time to come in your place when you have to go to appts (they can be every week in the end) or if you get morning sickness etc. I would just get your boss aside and tell them and then tell your co-workers as you feel! Good luck and congrats!

I told my employer when I was 12 weeks but I was there for 2 years already.

I don't know if it's fair for your employer not to tell since you're new, and you'll need maternity leave. So If I were you I will tell him in 2 or 3 more weeks, and tell him that you just find out... it's not that honest but you're being nice in telling him early enough so he/she can make plans for when you have to leave.

Good luck

Just go to work and play it out! If they ask, then happily say "why yes I am" and act as though it is no big deal. It is no reason to shame and no problem to work retail while pregnant. Whether or not they give you paid time off for it or not is another thing since you didn't tell up front.

i told my employer straight Way after i found out which was when i was 5 weeks just so she could be aware and help to advise me on what i could and couldn't do in the work place.
i had been working there for 2 years thou its a bit different when you just started and not all bosses are as nice as mine.
but i would defiantly tell them if i were you in case you fall or something and they have to make sure your getting plenty of breaks and not over doing it.
hope this helps good luck

I'd tell them tomorrow, they're going to find out sooner or later and honesty is the best policy.
I was 12 weeks when I told my employers.
