On what grounds are you attempting to justify it? It's a sad fact of life in the business world and you're not going to be able to do a thing about it. That's why nobody should count on a lifetime job these days. The average worker now changes careers five times during his or her working life. Be prepared. The way to do that is to upgrade your skills continually. Take night classes at your local trade school, junior college or business college. Learn a new language. Learn more about computer technology. Take courses in business communications. And take one now and then in something fun, to relieve the stress of the constant worry about your job. But don't just sit there and let the job and the world dump on ya - that's the second shortest path to an early grave (substance abuse is the shortest path of all).

Two organizations that merge will have a clash in cultures. Anytime you merge, you will have to fix systems so they can talk to each other; people will need to talk to each other.

That is my opinion.
