Here in Western Colorado....about 89.99 to 129.99 depending on the store and whether they have a "sale" or not. This includes a free vet check, first vaccines and they come spayed/neutered and descented.

For the ferret alone it will usually cost between $100-150. Thats not what costs the most. You will have to buy a cage, and a proper cage should cost between $100-300. Then you have to buy food about once a month or more if you buy ferret food which comes in a smaller bag and costs alot $15-20 a bag or more. You have to buy it toys, litter box, litter(ferret litter costs quite a bit), hammock, and many other little things. Really just to start out your looking at about $400-500 for the total cost of having a ferret. That doesn't count the costs of their shots which is whatever your vet charges, and if they make you get the ferret a rabies shot it will cost more. So plan on spending alot of money on the little one. If you find you have no time for the ferret you will have to buy another one which is even more money. They are great pets, but can be quite costly at first.

You shouldn't pay anything for a ferret at a pet store, they are generally ill-treated, sickly and do not make for a sound 'investment' as a furry friend. Get your ferret from someone who keeps and breeds them (as a hobby, not 'professionally'), you'll get a healthier, friendlier little stinker from someone who cares how they are raised and so does a better job.
Check the pets section in the Classifieds of your local Sunday paper to find someone. Expect to pay $50 and upwards depending on where you live...

First, before going to a pet store or a breeder (definitely choose a breeder over a pet store though) consider adopting a homeless fuzzy from a rescue. There are actually lots of ferrets available for adoption. They are usually already examined by a vet, up to date on vaccines, and are usually already very tame and sweet.
Go to petfinder.com to look in your area.

Hi -- This really varies from state to state. As another noted, please be sure to check with your state, county and city to be sure you are allowed to have a ferret.
A great source of information is http://www.ferret.org They also list upcoming shows and events. This is a great place to go to learn more about ferrets and find one from a breeder versus a pet store.
In my area (Seattle), $150 is typically.
Remember that you also need food, bedding, cage, veterinarian checks, etc.

Forget about pet stores they are rip offs. buy from the breeder and save at least fifty percent. You will then have a less stressed animal and a better choice.often animals and birds are badly cared for at pet stores and very stressed during their stay there.

Any pet store that i have been in, they have been ranged from 200.00- 250.00. I talked to a friend of mine that had 3 of them, and she totally talked me out of getting one. Yeah, they are cute and all, but she said they are just like taking care of a little toddler that gets into everthing. I would really think about it first. Good luck.
