College is a very different environment than high school and it will take some getting used to. It's OK to feel nervous about going, and it's OK to get to college and feel out of your depth for the first few days or even weeks.

A successful college career requires a lot of discipline. You're responsible for what happens to you; no one will make you go to class, but if you don't, you might fail. No one will give you detention if you don't do your homework, but if you don't, you're going to have problems. Teachers won't look over your shoulder to make sure you're OK; they won't nag you about your grades or your homework or anything like that. It's awesome, but it means the onus is on you to be responsible and get your work done, and get help when you need it. You're going to have a lot of freedom in college, but don't let it turn your head.

Enjoy the rest of high school, the summer and enter college determined to do well. College and high school are very different, but I absolutely loved them both. I hope you do, too.

the primary suggestion that got here to my brain upon studying this publish used to be a million. WHY is institution institution cost is America ridiculously pricey? WHY do schools want such a lot cash? A institution is NOT a corporation like Apple or Microsoft. My sister will graduate from her four years of institution quickly and the complete coast of institution pee paid for the period of the ones four years....is OMG an excessive amount of. the quantity is just about up to the U.S. countrywide debt. two. do schools REALLY want plenty of cash? three. America is presently going through an fiscal drawback; it's expected to be probably the most worst ever in U.S. historical past. So unemployment is a emerging challenge, the financial system is getting spoiled and there are extra blameless residents affliction underneath the poverty line. And i'm NOT towards the federal government however the federal executive does not appear to be sorting it out good. I have no idea that a lot approximately the ecnonomy, so I discovered from my sister (she's a trade / economics fundamental) and i will inform that the country, the financial system etc are all going through a drawback. Soo....i have no idea however except the federal government guarantees to love support the deficient pay for institution or some thing I strongly advise that faculties DO NOT carry institution costs. Otherwise...America will face a good worse academic drawback. Does the stuff I typed make experience? wish it does. And......the well information is that the pricey institution cost paid to a satisfactory institution used to be honestly valued at it on the grounds that my sister received a satisfactory process two weeks earlier than commencement.

Just make good grades and do extra ciricular activies such as sports, interact, spanish club, etc and you should get in with no problem. Doing well on your SATs also helps. It is hard to get into college if you didnt do well in high school. Some colleges have programs where you go the first semester to adjust to college life coming from high school that you might have to take just cause they think youre not quite ready for college but have potential. Good luck

College will be a *new* phase of your life, and it is VERY different from high school. You are more independent as a student, and its up to you, whether or not you want to take the challenge and succeed! College can be hard, but you can definetly make it... if you apply yourself. Take good notes, and STUDY! Pay attention to your Proffessors, and participate in class... that will show your Proffessor you are a intellectual student. Remember... Never to give up... you'll be so happy when you walk across that stage, and get that Degree!!!!!

This question is far too broad. That said, there are strategies that most people can use to get through college - you *should* be fine. College isn't supposed to be easy, however - be prepared to work hard.
