Now. I don't think it will be snowing anymore. (hope not). Go to your local Nursery or Greenhouse and see what you can plant now.

I live in southern Michigan and have been working on my yard for three weeks now. In early March, I pruned my fruit trees. Last weekend, I did the annual maintence on my lawn mower and raked and weeded my flower beds. Saturday, I planted apple trees. Yesterday, I planted pansys, violas, and sweet peas. Today I aerated and limed the lawn. By this upcoming weekend, I'll be cutting it for the first time. Easter weekend, I'll put in my garden with the early vegetables (peas, radishes, onions, lettuce, carrots). There's always lot of work to do once the snow melts. It's nice to get the stuff you can get done early out of the way.

I agree with bradymsu. I also live in southern MI, and I've been doing maintenance for the last couple weeks. Today I was pruning back trees in the back yard and raking dead leaves out of my flower beds!
I haven't put any veggies, herbs or flowers in just yet, as I noticed a drop in temperature into the 40's next week, with night temps around freezing. I plan on putting my cool weather crops out after that cold spurt if the forecast looks ok.
Don't put out peppers or tomatoes til around mid-May, perhaps even as late as the end of May, again depending on the forecast. They like warm-hot temps.
