I would like to know that same exact thing! Ill be in London for the release, or Edinburgh, so i want to know that too. Probably get there at least a few hours early. Its the last book, so TONS of people will be there.

My advice: plan ahead. (sounds like you are.)

I assume you are UK (americans line up, instead of getting in a "Queue") but I would imagine the big UK chain stores might have similar policies to the US example. What I did for both books 5 and 6 was pre-reserve my copy at a Barnes and Noble. Then, I went in/called the B&N a week before the release to find out how they were handling the lines. Both times they were issuing tickets that gave you a space in a line group (so if you had ticket 11 you weren't 11th, but you were guaranteed a spot in the first group of 50 people. 62 gets you in the second group, and so forth.) Both times they gave out line tickets in the morning of the release date. So I went to the bookstore at 11am, got my "line" ticket, and then came back in the evening and even though there might be hundreds of people in the store already, I had my space in the line reserved. Both times I got my book within 30 minutes of the midnight release (the second time I had a little hiccup with a night worker not being good about letting me into the first group since I showed up 10 minutes before midnight, and I had to ask a manager to intercede since I'd been really clear about finding out the policy ahead of time.)

The chains will plan ahead and a few phone calls can save you hours of waiting.

If you can bear to wait until the morning of the release (rather than midnight) you could order off Amazon and they'll deliver it that day.

I guess it depends. I know last time my local Waterstones said they would be selling the book (6) in on Monday but they ended up selling it a week afterwards.

There's not set date for things like this.

go to www.jkrowling.com if you want to know when the last book is to be released.
And for queueing for the sixth book, I pre-bought it, and then walked to the bookstore after lunch, and after the majority of the people had left, so sorry, can't help ya their.

You can reserve your copy at Waterstone's for £8.99... I guess you could then line up to get it!... I've reserved mine at Waterstone's and I'm going to line up as well!!! Find out when you go to the shop- they'll tell you...

Hope you have loads of fun on the day!
