Reading in the Parade magazine yesterday this Marilyn Vos Savant who is supposed to be a "genius woman" told this woman that she should keep her maiden name and pass it on to her daughters while her husband's name is passed on to the son's. This is supposed to keep a woman's identity and her sense of self worth or something. She encouraged women everywhere to keep their maiden names after they marry, atleast from the way I read it. However, she didn't seem to think things through because women's maiden names come from their dad's last name and even if they started this new tradition, no matter how you cut it, every last name WILL ALWAYS be traced back to a MAN'S LAST NAME. I'm don't think these feminists have really thought this through. The point of this is for you women to take your husband's last name showing your allegiance belongs to your husband now instead of your father. Can I have an "amen brother" on this one?? If you are a feminist please explain what you think.
