Since March 16 ,2007: 15 cats and 1 dog have died from the recalled pet food and we are hearing about this everyday in the news. Just to use as comparison I don't think we have heard that since March 16,2007 29 soldiers have died that are serving over seas. Isn't that sad? We are not focused on the right thing.

Good point. Many people value pets over people. Not just sad but sick.

I don't believe that lack of focus is necessary the issue here. This may not be a fair comparison , the pet issue is something we as U.S. citizens can directly address and proceed to rectify in our country.

We have so many variables in play, along with our pleas of cessation to consider, which have been falling on deaf ears for four years now. We are all tired of the war and truly would like a resolution. Our attention has not been taken away, I like to believe we are a country which is well suited to multi-task.

We can immediately address the outrage of our pets dying due to someones negligence, and continue to stand up for our (human) family members who are signed up for the war due to someones negligent thought processes.

I do believe the human life is first and foremost, but a persons pet serves as a friend, companion and family member to many people.

It appears that our focus is directed in the right direction toward needless and senseless death.

Big difference. The pets are innocents. The soldiers volunteered.

The real reason we are focused on the wrong thing: The pets are animals and the soldiers are humans.

Each and everyday the mass media reports on the Iraq death count. Its their favorite thing. You must have been too wrapped up in the pet food story to notice.

We acknowledge everything. The war goes on day in and day out for years. We need other news too. And yes, you can get a body count everyday from Bill Dobbs on CNN
