Leonidas never met Xerxes. It's an old Hollywood trick to have Protagonist meet Antagonist for purposes of enhancing the dramatic tension of a piece. Please don't think "300" is history. While the Battle was real, its depiction in this film has nothing to do with accuracy.

It is well known that after the Battle of Thermopylae Xerxes ordered the beheading of Leonidas and then also crucified him.
