I am obsess with the war I guess thats what happens when your family is so effected by it and has to feel the pain of having loved ones in harms way.. personally I think nothing but the war should be talked about.. until the problem is taking care of.... must be nice not to have to worry all the time

It's hard to honor and talk about every solider that has died-- millions die and have died. At this point, we know many have been dieing and theres nothing we can do about it-- thats what war is. People get depressed talking about and hearing about people dieing, gettting murdered, raped, kidnapped and killed all the time on the news-- war DOES take a toll on manys emotions and sometimes we need to divert from the fact. The media still covers a lot on the war, but we also need to cover other things too. The dog food recall is a recent event that has shocked many and caused a dieing outbreak-- we cover that just as we covered the spinich e-coli outbreak in a few states of the U.S. We aren't saying animals are more important than humans or vice versa, but the people need to know about the food that's being recalled and how to help prevent further deaths-- we all sadly know about the war and hearing about it a million times is really dampening. I'm sorry about your losses, we all really are but it's good to divert the mind from the worlds growing crisis's every once in awhile.

All the media wants is ratings. They will show anything as long as people watch. And yes, human lives are more precious than animal lives. I love animals, I work with animals everyday, and I have animals. But I in no way view them as more important than a human being. I hate the news because all they do is tell stories that get people's attention, and they have even scewed stories to get more viewers. And I just wanted to add that I have heard of the food recall ALL OVER, but I have not heard about the 29 soldiers who lost their lives. I wish the media would pay them more respect.

Of course we are all concerned about the recent loss of our soldiers as well as the pet food recall. they are giving the recall more exsposure because it is something new to talk about, the war on terror has lasted so long and caused us to lose many soldiers. A lot of people dont want to hear about it anymore they just want are troops to come home, so the news is just airing the pet recall for as long as they can then they will go back to talking about the soldiers.

I don't get it - the war has been covered over the past week that the news has also covered the pet food recalls. It's not an either or proposition - we still need to be informed of other things.

You might consider that you're pre-occupied or obsessed with the war if your expectation is that no one thinks, talks, or looks at anything except war coverage.

First off, animals are not more important than humans and humans are not more important than animals.

What is more important is ratings.

The petfood recall story will get those ratings in a second but, not an unpopular, politicized war. It sucks, it's unfortunate and it's downright criminal that the work of our troops overseas is not being broadcast and their efforts are not being supported in that fashion.

If you want news on American troops in Iraq AND Afghanistan you might want to check out Air America Radio, NPR and even BBC News. I'm sure there are more but, these are the ones I check.

I watch a lot of the TV news. I do hear the pet food recall mentioned, but there's also a great deal being reported about Iraq, Iran, Anna Nickole, the weather, Mrs. Edwards, and everything else.
Which station do you watch, that reports only on the pet food recall ?

Animals are extra substantial! they have been right here long till now us and could be right here long after us as long as we don't kill all of them off!. we rely on animals to stay to tell the story and yet animals do not want us, all we are is a probability and a burden to them. we are destroying the planet further and extra each and every day even nonetheless the minority human beings purely want to be a factor of nature, there is often some that purely want to be extra advantageous at each and every thing.

There are some in this society that have this twisted view that somehow animal life is more precious than human life. Frankly, I don't care what the media reports; I expect nonsense from them. But I think your point is valid.

(I hope evil looney is kidding; but if she isn't, well, people like this are to whom I'm referring. God, I hope she is kidding)
